I worked 10 years in a newsroom full of journalists. Many made impressions on me, but none like the editor who had this statement “Everyone has a story to tell, their Slice of Life.” He wanted the reporters to go out and talk to someone and find that story. It was a feature story, a human interest story.
We are regular people faced with stuff like everyone else. I had never heard of Frontotemporal dementia (FTD). I know Alzheimer’s, but this is not the same. It strikes patients at a younger age. Facing FTD and heart failure plus advocating for neurodiversity has its challenges. As I am the care giver of all, that is my slice of life.
